US Energy Secretary Tours 6.4-MW Rooftop Solar Array in Las Vegas

With more than 20,000 panels, the largest rooftop solar array in the U.S. (second largest in the world behind a 7.52-MW installation in Punjab, India) is about to be commissioned on top of the Mandalay Bay Convention center in Las Vegas, Nevada. A 6.4-MW solar array, which uses SMA inverters and panels from Hanwha Q CELLS and JA Solar, covers the 20 acres of roofs on the convention center and its neighboring buildings.

Outside Sales Associate – Phoenix, Arizona

Description:

We are seeking energetic, focused, self-motivated entrepreneurial sales professionals capable of selling our complete energy management portfolio to commercial and residential prospects.  Our products and services include: Solar PV & Thermal, Energy Management, energy-efficient lighting, electric vehicle charging stations, battery back-up/critical load storage, & Green Building.

Responsibilities:

Self-generation of leads via contacting prospective clients, appointment setting and management, and evaluating the client’s solar, energy management, EV charging, lighting, etc. needs.

Quickly qualify prospective clients, identifying energy management needs by evaluating utility bills based on lifestyle usage, and then confidently provide solutions.

Prepare and present in-home/office sales proposal when the client is available (nights and weekends apply).

Understand and clearly communicate the various ways for residential customers  to acquire Solar, Solar Thermal or other Energy Efficiencies through financing structures (secured and unsecured), cash purchase structures, or lease option structures.

Use GFT’s CRM (Customer Relations Management) program to identify contacts, track leads and sales opportunities, marketing information, and pipeline reporting to match against quotas established by Sales Management.

Stay informed on industry trends and fully comprehend the details of government and utility rebates, and how they apply to each solution GFT offers.

Attend networking functions on a weekly basis to generate new business exposure and opportunities.

Report weekly activities (contacts, leads, calls, appointments, successes, challenges).

Coordinate with a Special Event Associate to work events and generate leads.

Be an expert in your discipline, your product base, and your competition.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 2 years outside sales experience, or verifiable multi-year successful sales record in lieu of a degree is required.

Must have exceptional communication skills; able to bridge gaps between GFT solutions and client’s needs.

Must have a team-oriented mentality and work ethic. (Expect to be challenged and provide coaching among your peers.)

Must demonstrate professionalism at all times in appearance, speech, and job performance

Must be a success-oriented, self-motivated, passionately-driven individual that can identify “trigger points”, think critically, and anticipate and resolve objections.

Must demonstrate strong ability in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. etc…).

Knowledge of financing and lease structures a plus.

At least a basic understanding of accounting principles and practices, including how to prepare a sales estimate, purchase order, and invoicing procedures.

Working knowledge of Results CRM is a plus.

Knowledge of some  of the following; Solar, Thermal, Energy Efficiency Measures, EV Charging stations, external power generators/ battery back-ups, and lighting.
